| Space colonization is not that far away.
Current thinking is that by the year 2020 NASA will be back on
the moon, by 2025 NASA will have a permanent base on the moon,
and by 2030 NASA will have a base on Mars. NASA will
not be alone. Russia, China, India, The European Union and Japan all
have plans for a human presence in space too. Presently there is a permanent
space population in the orbiting International Space Station.
Thus far over 400 people have traveled to space and 12 have walked
on the moon. If this pace of space travel continues, and the
number would double each decade, by 2040, there will be 6,000
space colonists living and working in space. Space colonists
will not only be the "best and the brightest" as
NASA labels its research/explorer oriented astronauts but also
the well trained "ordinary folk" such as welders,
riggers, medical techs, nurses, mechanics, electricians,
cooks, laborers, accountants, teachers, administrators, etc.
These ordinary colonists will need specialized training unique
to a space faring lifestyle, which only SCTC is preparing to
deliver Our vision for the SCTC training scenario is that the first major populated base most likely would be an
orbiting space station from which space colonists would depart
to the other research outposts. This station would be
constructed of an assemblage of discarded space shuttle fuel
tanks and "spun-up" to create an artificial gravity
of 1g. (Click

It is the intent of our design team to design,
construct, and place in operation a simulated space station
and remote research base for the training of future space
colonists. This facility (Phase Two) will serve as
our future permanent campus. (See Below)
Development of
the SCTC concept will be conducted in three stages. The
first stage will be the initiation of a Pilot Program as a
proof of concept demonstration, and to train six instructors
that will serve as the core group to train thirty Phase One
facility instructors. The second stage is the
construction of Phase One of the permanent campus where thirty
full-time, program instructors will be trained. These
thirty instructors will be needed to train the students
entering the completed Phase Two campus, the third and final
stage of our project. If you are interested in being
trained as an instructor in either the Pilot Program or in
Phase One, or in becoming a Phase Two student, please
contact us for details.
